'Coastal Whispers' - fused glass artwork

A stunning turquoise glass has been screen-printed with a simple seagull design on the front and back of the glass before being fused to a white glass, creating a beautiful, layered design which will whisper as the natural daylight moves around the glass. The dense horizon line has been created using a striking inky blue glass powder whilst the vibrant sea is made from a stunning blend on blue and pink glass granules. The artwork is finished with a sprinkle of iridescent glass flecks to catch the light, like the sun twinkling on the surface of the sea. 

If you’re looking for that coastal feel in your home, this stunning piece is a perfect addition. The glass work is presented in a stand created form a gorgeous piece of driftwood found on the shore of Lulworth Cove by Wendy. If you would prefer you can choose an oak or white wooden stand. The fused glass can be displayed in a window, letting the flows of natural daylight make the glass glow or in a light space letting the light catch the on the surface of the glass.

Wendy’s home and glass studio is in the stunning coastal village of West Lulworth, Dorset. She adores the beaches and walks around Lulworth Cove, Oswald’s Bay, Durdle Door and Mupe Bay. 

Wendy has been working in fused glass for over 20 years since graduating from Edinburgh College of Art in 2000 and receiving funding from The Crafts Council to set up her studio.
