'Beneath The Surface' - fused glass artwork

Beneath The Surface is a semi abstract seascape in fused glass that captures the dramatic and vibrant rich colours of the sea and sky just before a coastal storm. Gorgeous delicate bubbles and glass powders have been trapped between glass layers creating intriguing textures, and the surface of the glass has been sprinkled with iridescent glass flecks to catch the light like glimmers of sunlight dancing on the sea.  The glass artwork is finished with a calming, screen-printed grass design and a delicate single seagull adding to the sense of fleeting moments.

This glass artwork is about the transient nature of the coast and connecting it to life's ups and downs. Much like the ebb and flow of stormy seas, tough times pass, and brighter days lay ahead.
